The company is currently prioritizing the recruitment of Sheller Operators and Parer Operators, with recruitment activities taking place across various districts in North Halmahera Regency.
“Given the high demand for these two positions (Sheller Operators and Parer Operators), PT NICO’s Human Resources team has been conducting outreach and recruitment activities in West Kao District, North Galela District, South Galela District, Galela District, North Loloda District, and will continue expanding these efforts to other districts throughout North Halmahera Regency,” said Deky Tawaris, spokesperson for PT NICO, on Tuesday (April 14, 2026).
In addition to its recruitment efforts in North Halmahera Regency, PT NICO has also expanded its outreach and hiring programs to several neighboring regencies, including West Halmahera, Morotai Island, and East Halmahera.
According to Deky Tawaris, the primary objective of these outreach activities is to provide local communities especially coconut farmers with a better understanding of the opportunities created by the coconut processing industry. Through the presence of PT NICO, coconut farmers are offered greater certainty and hope for improving their income and overall quality of life. Unlike in the past, when coconuts were primarily processed into copra, the industry now offers far greater value through downstream processing.
He further explained that the coconut industry is currently undergoing a significant transformation. What was once centered on traditional copra production has evolved into a modern industrial sector, where coconuts are processed using advanced technology to create a wide range of high-value products, including coconut milk, coconut cream, coconut water beverages, and coconut flour.
